Meet The Team - Kiela Granito

Sport has always been a passion since childhood, playing Netball at county level and representing Abingdon Ladies in javelin, amongst a few. I can't think of a time when I haven't been a member of some type of sports club.

On leaving school I attended Oxford College, gaining a national diploma in Sports Science, after a short diversion to a career in finance, the fitness world soon came calling again, I joined the local gym and went along to my first Body Pump class. Legs like jelly in the lunge track, hands shaking through the shoulder track, it was hard work, but I was very quickly hooked.  I decided to go for my Exercise to Music certificate and started teaching Fitness Classes.

That was 9 years ago and since then I have qualified in several different courses, including Body Pump, Body Combat, Step and more recently Zumba. I currently teach around fifteen classes per week around the local area, including Circuits, Dance Aerobics and Zumba at the club.

After having my third son I took a short break from teaching to juggle a busy household, but since returning to teaching 3 years ago, I am really enjoying the buzz it gives you, helping others achieve their goals and strive towards their next fitness level, whether that be training specifically for an event or just starting out in the fitness world.

I am very passionate about getting children involved in sport; I regularly visit different schools, teaching the children fun ways to enjoy exercise. My aim for this year is to qualify in kids Zumba, to try to get as many kids involved in activities as possible.

My love of sport has clearly passed onto my children, as I spend all of my spare time on the sidelines of a football pitch, as "chief supporter" for my three sons' football teams!
